WHO WE ARE

Motion Picture FX SA is a Special Effects and Stunts service company with offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, providing a variety of services to the motion picture, television and commercial industry. The company has a proud record of service to the industry throughout South Africa and neighbouring countries over the past 20 years.

Motion Picture FX SA has a full time staff compliment of eights, three of whom are fully qualified pyrotechnicians registered with the Chief Inspector of Explosives of South Africa as well as neighbouring countries. The company tries, where possible, to maintain a basic training programme for a few selected aspirants in the field of Special Effects and Stunts.

The nature of the industry in South Africa has forced Motion Picture FX SA to accumulate a considerable and varied inventory of special effects and stunt equipment, and is currently the only supplier and manufacturer of certain classes of equipment in Southern Africa. This factor has allowed the company dectorate, in its planning, continuity of service with regard to equipment. Where possible we attempt to assist other Special Effects and Stunts operators in the industry to meet their equipment requirements on a rental basis.

A similar situation has arisin in respect of specialised materials, and in this regard Motion Picture FX SA has become the only suplier of a variety of imported materials. Once again this factor gives us independence of action and where possible we support the induatry for other operations.
